Replacing Doors in House

A really easy and effective way to make your home start to feel like it has had a facelift is to replace the interior doors.  Let’s go over 3 reasons why it’s a great idea:

  1. Update the Design Style – You probably have the “builder special” type of interior doors.  Nowadays, there are beautiful choices that really make your home look updated.  You can replace painted doors with painted but with a new design.  Or replace painted doors with stained doors or stained doors with painted doors.  The ideas are endless.
  2. Current Doors are Worn – If you have a busy house with many kids, dogs, traffic or entertaining – there is a good chance some or many of your doors are being worn out.  Updating doors will make your house not look like a ragamuffin!
  3. Hinges & Door Handles – If you have worn-out doors, then chances are your hinges and handles are started to become loose, broken, or not working properly.  If you are going to take off the doors and replace the mechanical parts, it’s a good time to replace the doors too.

Final recap – updating your interior doors can give you a huge return-on-investment.  Take your time and don’t think you have to do it all at once.  I’d suggest buying and having all the doors needed delivered.  That way, if this project takes you half a year to complete, the doors will all look the same.  You won’t have to worry about a style not being available.  Take your time and do 1-4 doors per weekend.  Before long, it will all be done.
