Affordable Finished Basement Ideas
What are some of the most inexpensive basement finishing ideas? I find if most people don’t want to spend too much or are planning on putting their home on the market, the following are great options to choose from for affordable finished basement ideas:
- Painting Basement Ceiling Joists – You can paint the ceiling joists as well as the pipes and ductwork in a flat, black finish. This creates a void above the light fixtures. Very simple solutions and many commercial retail stores apply this technique.
- Painting Concrete Basement Walls – If you are going to paint the basement walls, I’d suggest going a lighter shade of paint on the walls due to the fact you don’t have natural lighting in the basement.
- Painting Concrete Basement Floors – You can paint the basement floors or acid stain the basement floors. This keeps the dust down. Also, if your basement has a tendency to flood, you don’t have to tear up the carpeting or tile.
