Your roof is 1/2 to 1/3 of the overall color of your home.  My video below discusses how choosing roof shingle color for better curb appeal is such an important step to making your home’s exterior look amazing.

Curb Appeal

Most people don’t ever think about their home’s roof color.  Most people are busy and don’t even notice the color of our roof.  We tend to focus on the siding, trim, wood posts, gutters and downspouts.  But honestly, you have to look at the roof shingle color before you decide the color for the rest of your home.  This will add to the overall curb appeal of your home

Coordinate and Choosing Roof Shingle Color for Better Curb Appeal

Want to create better curb appeal?  Coordinate your house siding, gutters and downspouts, wood posts, and trim with the roof shingle color.  You can go either way.  Most want to coordinate these areas.  Most stick with the warmer more neutral colors.  But some like to do a bold statement and contrast them.  The Georgian style home tends to have a black roof color with a contrasting red brick home, with white or black accent colors.

Lotz of Logic

Walk around your neighborhood or drive through the next subdivision.  You’ll be paying more attention to the roof shingle colors and if they really coordinate well to the homes.  You truly want to have a balance of these colors to attain good curb appeal.  When you have good curb appeal, everything will flow together better.  That way, if you have to sell your home due to a job transfer, or just want to escape high real estate taxes, your home will stand out above all the others up for sale.  If you want more curb appeal ideas, click this link for 9 other suggestions to help your home pop.
