Now that homeowners are starting to utilize their laundry rooms or mud rooms for pets, I thought you’d want to see some great suggestions how to make that part of your home more pet-centric!
There is a whole industry that is moving towards catering to pets. Let’s go over a few neat things to consider for your mudroom:
- Lockers or cubbies – great to store food in airtight containers. Another place to store toys, leashes, jackets and dog bones
- Dog crates built into cabinets – this is a great place to have your dog crate – hidden away and under your laundry room folding station!
- Dog washing station in the laundry room – if your dog gets mud or dirt on his paws, it would be a great way to rinse off his paws or give him that occasional bath. Would totally save on grooming fees.
- A place to Store Dog Bowls – train your dog to drink and eat in the mudroom too!
Make sure you use only the best products when remodeling your mudroom for that special little friend.

Final recap – I have three dogs. They are a huge part of our family. But honestly, they need a place, just like the kids, to store all their toys, leashes, bones and food. But I really have enjoyed having their dog crates stored away to keep the smell down in the rest of the home. My wife enjoys the fact we have a dog washing station in the laundry room too.
