Walk-In Shower: When remodeling my bathroom, should you install a walk-in shower? You might be asking yourself, “Will it be worth it?” I’m finding that many of my customers want to put in a large, walk-in shower for several different reasons.  Check out my video below on this topic:

Reasons to Install Walk-in Shower

Really, you should be asking yourself, what do you want, what are your needs, and what really do you love or hate about your existing master bath. I’m noticing that most of my customers are removing the existing whirlpool tubs that were put in during the 80s and 90s.

Removing Whirlpool Tub

Most homebuyers back then found them quite appealing, but in all reality, after talking with many folks I found that they really didn’t end up using the whirlpool tubs that much anymore Maybe for the first couple of years and then never really seem to use them after that. So if you love your whirlpool tub and you use it. keep it!

But you don’t like it, let’s take out that old whirlpool tub and convert that area into a more practical and functional space. And how can this be achieved? What about making that area into a larger shower, or you’re looking to incorporate the new showerheads available, such as rain showerheads or multiple shower heads that some call them as body sprayers. What a great thing to come home to at the end of a long day.

Walk-In Shower:  Caregivers Can Fit in Shower

And as our population ages, we’re also seeing that there might be an additional caregiver in the home to assist in the individuals bathing needs. Grab bars already installed will be a welcome item.  I think that the walk-in shower is something that we will see standard in many homes to come and will be here for a long time. It’s time you think about how you can make your master bathroom shower area not only functional and practical but into a spa-like area.
